On June 6, 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected King of Sweden, leaving the Kalmar Union. This also marks the start of an independent Sweden as we know it. 

You are invited to join the Consulate General of Sweden, SACC Houston, SWEA, and the Swedish Club of Houston as we celebrate Sweden's National Day on Saturday, June 10, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, beginning at 3:00 PM!
